I wish my phone, Xbox, and Windows 8 experiences would synchronize.
I want to listen to, and continue listening to, my music across my devices.
When I drive to work, I'm listening to music on my phone. When I get to my desk at work, I would like it to have synced my current song, playlist, and position in the current song (my phone pauses when I get out of the car), so that all I have to do is press Play when I log in to my computer and put on my headphones.
Likewise, I would like to pause my music at the end of the work day, get in my car and hit play, and have it continue where I left off. Then when I get home, (again, music on my phone is paused) walk inside my house and tell my Xbox to continue where I left off.
If I pause it on my Xbox or turn it off and go log in to my desktop or laptop, I want to continue it there.
I don't ask for much! ;-)
I use my xbox music pass on my Win 8 PC, Xbox music streaming website, Nokia Lumia 920, and my Xbox 360 and I have to say that the playlist syncing is all sorts of buggy. I often get repeat playlists and they aren't very smart. For example, if I create a playlist on my home PC and then try to play it online I will often be missing half of my playlist. These gaps are because the songs is "local" or "no longer available by the request of the record label." The infuriating thing is that the songs on the playlist are on xbox music but something has changed (album date, extended version v non extended version). It would be nice if the cloud service would try its best to select the song necessary to fill in the gap in the playlist.
When you download a song on your phone it would add it to your collection on music.xbox.com and vise versa. I find my self downloading the same songs twice to keep my music on sync between my windows phone, surface , pc , xbox one and music.xbox.com
Also it be nice if we could create playlist were we can add songs/delete from the phone. The online experience on music.xbox.com for playlist is perfect we can truly make our playlist vs the phone it just adds all the songs from that one artist . And again the only down fall is that not all the music will sync even after creating the playlist online.
I understand that you can't allow more than one device to stream music at a time. If I'm playing music on Device A, and now want to play music on Device B, seamlessly stop playing music on Device A and start playing music on Device B. Your current experience is that Device B will get an error stating that music is already playing on another device. This is a poor user experience that will deter users to move from an existing service to yours.
Say I walk out of the house and now want to play music in my car, with your current experience I'm out of luck and have to wait till I get back home to manually stop the music. Spotify already does this and it just makes sense.
I'm trying to set up the tablet 8 with phone 8 & can't get them to sync (I'll call tomorrow), but make it so the tablet & phone seek (owned by same person) seek out other devices automatically.
My music is come off my phone on to my xbox360 is what I want
The fact that the windows phone app and music app are both completely different things brothers me. Do it like the zune, where you can play music AND sync music to your device without having to open something else.
I use music.xbox.com in work and have added various albums and 'radio' collections to my account there. Is it possible to sync these to my Lumia 1020? if not, why not? Currently my Lumia only shows songs that i have sync'd through the xbox music app.
continually the devices do not sync, you need a manual sync button
When I add songs to my collection on my phone (lumia 920) but when I use xbox music on the web just some of the songs are there. I think it would be awesome if my collection would be the same no matter what device I'm on.
Let windows 8 and IOS devices sync together
I love this service and I am a subscriber. However, I have issues with the lack of integration between my devices. Currently, there is no way for me to make a playlist using music I own on my computer and music from the Xbox music service. There is also the issue of not being able to make playlists from my phone. I loved the old Zune software because I could plug in my phone and sync what I wanted, make playlists, and see all of my music in one place. Now if I want to listen to a song I already own and a song from Xbox music, I need to have the internet open and have some other music handling software open. I still use the Zune software but it is unsupported and doesn't work well anymore, and won't sync to my phone. I think Xbox music should be one program that houses all of my music, and that allows me to arrange songs and make playlists, and sync the playlist to my phone through wired connection, not just making waiting to see if the playlist appears on my phone (and it sometimes doesn't). I should also be able to make a playlist from my phone and sync that to my computer. I love this service because I love being able to call up any artist, album, or song that I want to easily. As it stands, I cannot do that easily.

Allow Windows Phone 8 to write to the cloud, not just read from it!
Thanks for your feedback! Looks like this is going to be a popular request, I’ll send it over to the feature team for review. Thanks for posting.

Yes!!! XBM team... Please bring us this feature.. This is killer, and I've been wanting this since day one..
What happened to this request: http://xboxmusic.uservoice.com/forums/209733-xbox-music-suggestion-box/suggestions/4719783-remote-control
When I search for remote or control, it doesn't come up anymore.
The uservoice forum is scattered with request to remotely control the Xbox music App between all devices. Please combine this request with remote control, we all have multiple devices and want to have the choice to play from one device to the other while keeping Xbox music UX.
Combine this with the remote control feature and it becomes my one and only music player.
I've been dreaming about this feature since 2010
I want this for Podcasts too.
This so much!!
this is a great idea!!! I would vote, but I am out of votes :)

Not sure if this has already been addressed in comments, but I build all my playlists on my computer ... and then I go to my phone and they're either not there or they're incomplete. Random example: a playlist viewed online has 161 songs, on my phone it has 24. Insanely frustrating.
The problem I have with Xbox Music syncing is that I have no idea what it's doing. It has music from my PC that I own the CD and have ripped myself marked as Streaming only or in the cloud as if I got it from my Music Pass. On my hard drive in my Music Library, almost every song is duplicated (multiple MP3 files). On my Windows Phone 8, even though I have unchecked "Xbox Music Cloud Collection" it continues to stream music from the cloud. If I had unlimited cellular data I wouldn't care, but I don't.
All I know for sure is that the syncing worked with Zune and Windows Phone 7. Now, it is just a mess.
I'm not trying to be rude, but my frustration at not being able to get this to work is growing daily.
I'm a programmer and IT manager and consider myself computer savvy, but Xbox Music make me feel like a Noob.

tHISs can easily be implemented by upgrading the Zune desktop application to an Xbox Music and Xbox Video desktop application without losing any features (well, the Windows Phone app can also start supporting WP7).

Pause and play when you move between situations like this is really useful, but I'd also like to be able to synchronize playback on multiple devices. That way I could have my Phone in my kitchen, Xbox in my living room and PC in my study all playing the same music at the same time. Great for parties! Similar to http://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/, and SmartGlass has shown promising steps toward it!
It's simple. Just like every other platform, I would like the music I download via my phone to sync with my other devices that share my xbox music pass. What is so difficult about getting this to work? By now MS should understand the importance of music to consumers. Remember: the ipod brought Apple back to life. Music IS important to people. Quit giving us second rate software and players that fall well short of what google and apple give their customers. You guys have had plenty of time to correct your mistakes.

I'm a mac user so making the music.xbox.com player synchronise with my Lumia phone and vice versa would be great.

The biggest issue for me is not continuity of pause state, but continuity of collection. When I download a song to my phone, I expect it to be in the collection on my PC, but it isn't. This results in making it very easy to forget about songs which I discovered using SoundHound or some other phone app, since I downloaded the song to the phone but never to the PC.

On top I would love the song lists, the Songs etc. to be updated on every device where I'm using my Xbox Music pass
